| Even though I am sure the stock pump is more reliable and its known to put out more fuel than a walbro 255... But the problem is the size of it. Its too large. You COULD use the blank bulkhead on the passenger side (for RHD Z's). And just run two pumps.. One on each side of the tank. (This is what I planned on doing a long time ago, until I got to thinking) Doing the pump setup with two stock pumps will have the flow of approx 1200-1400rwhp? .. But from the pumps being on opposite sides.. taking a hard turn, on a 1/4 tank of gas, while boosting.. Could possibly cause a lean condition even though the tanks are baffled, its just not worth the risk. If you just plan on drag racing the car.. maybe it isn't that big of an issue.. but any kind of track or hardcore street/canyon racing.. could be a huge headache of a motor build. Depending on how you ran the fuel lines, Parallel (Each bank has its own dedicated fuel pump) (Should be better for very high hp goals) And this is what I recommend if you are pushing more than 750 rwhp or so. Or "stock-ish" setup. By using stock fuel rails, 300degree or Border/Sard (which is what I have) and run a SINGLE feed line.. with a 'Y' junction block. Two pumps, two lines --> into a single feed to the fuel rail, through the "bastard jumper hose" to the other fuel rail, to the dampner, regulator , Return etc. The problem with running two stock pumps using the two stock JDM and USDM bulk head locations would especially be realized if running a pump dedicated to its own bank on opposite sides. I would recommend just either doing twin walbros, (side by side) or the Greg Dupree way.. Running an external with a toggle switch, "Y" junction and solenoid. I am planning on running n20 as well. This may be overkill but I plan on running three walbro 255's. Two for the engine, (One dedicated to each bank), and one for the N20. I could just run a 'T' or 'Y' junction off the regulator before the return for the N20.. but I don't want ANYTHING changing the fuel flow for the engine. I fabricated a nice little "hanger", to nicely hold the 3 pumps, spaced apart a little from each other. Let us know how your build goes and I hope this post could help ya some. -KongZTT GT28RS MD
NO, This picture is not photoshopped. It took many times to take this picture. Setting up the timer, shutter speed etc, then jumping on my bike and getting the tire to spin.
